Interview with Mara Jager Creative Designer Brand Quinta da Glória

1 - Mara, speak a little of its trajectory. How did you get?

I started as a freelance designer in 1998 designing bikinis, it was a difficult start, because I worked as a representative sales of popular brand aswell studying fashion in Senai in the evenings, until I got a job as assistant to fashion in Da Hui, a reputable company in the surfwear market in 1999, I worked it up to get my post of designer. It was an achievement, but wanted a change and I moved to New Zealand in 2001 to travel and see the world and explore other areas of fashion too. I lived in New Zealand for over 1 year, then returned to Australia in 2003 and lived her for 6 months. In 2004 I moved to London in England where I live until today.

2 - Why the choice of creating a brand for the evangelical female audience?

I was born in a huge family of evangelical Christians, and always had trouble finding skirts even wearing skirts. I did not like and did not accept the idea of getting dressed with skirts , when I moved to New Zealand where I started to love the designs and skirt styles, saw many young girls wearing skirts stylish and modern too, very feminine. That year I got converted and created this project and the idea of a brand with a profile of young, modern, different from the traditional that you already know, but feminine, which fits well to young evangelical women who likes to wear skirts and need for novelty.

- What excites you?

Share with the  Brazilian public my ideas, everything that I have collected over this last 8 years travelling around. Also excites me a lot to know that there is an underserved market in need of attention, new ideas and design.Excites me to see someone on TV using a clothe or design I created, what happened recently in Europe when I watched my favorite program on BBC Dragon\\\\\\\'s Den.

4 -What this collection was inspired on? What theme do you use?

Inspired by the "Living day to day life", the theme was a "Day in Life" created styles of skirts where you can dress for everyday occasions, I focused the every day, when you go shopping, or water your plants in the garden or go to college, and you \\\'ll be well dressed, other styles to go out in the evenings, go to church or a wedding. Always seeking day to day life, to bring Brazil a little bit of Europe and what happens in fashion in the world, well-dressed at any time or occasion.

5 - What is the woman "Quinta da Gloria"? Who is she?

She is a girl or a modern woman, who knows what happens around her got  her own style and personality, likes to dress well, and creative and innovative in her wardrobe, yet maintains a strong femininity without showing the body.

6 - Tell us a little of his work as a stylist / designer in Europe? How and live in Europe and being a designer?

Very cool, lot of work and too many trips. We design six collections per year. We traveled through Europe, Asia and India every two months to search or go to the vendors and suppliers.Quite thrilling to be a fashion designer in Europe, everything happens very fast, much information, and everything changes all the time too. Living in Europe fascinating eh eh like being plugged into the center of the world.

7 - In your opinion, what is the world\\\'s best place to buy clothes and why?

I particularly like New York and Hong Kong. Large cities like Sao Paulo, London and Paris are also wonderful places to connect with fashion and the architecture is fascinating.

8 - When will mark the official launch of the "Quinta da Gloria"? And where can we buy?

The official launch will happen on Sunday Christian Expo at the Expo Center Norte in Sao Paulo on the 8th to 13th September, we are with our stand, making the launch of the brand.
